Yuasa Batteries backs Sieders in Tyrepower V8 SuperUtes

Ute racing stalwart David Sieders will spearhead the newly formed Yuasa Batteries Racing team in the 2024 Tyrepower V8 SuperUte Series which begins in earnest next week at the Bathurst 500, Mount Panorama (February 23-25, 2024).

Yuasa Batteries was recently announced as the series’ Official Battery Partner for 2024 and today announced it will also back the #3 Mazda BT-50 as the former Ute champion eyes his first championship title in the dual-cab era.

“We are ecstatic to welcome David Sieders as an Official Yuasa Batteries Ambassador while driving his Mazda BT-50 as part of Yuasa Batteries Racing in 2024,” said Andrew Bottoms, Century Yuasa Batteries, Marketing Manager – Australia & New Zealand.

“Following our recent announcement of joining the category as the Official Battery Partner, we were eager to align ourselves with a fantastic driver and David is the perfect choice. He’s a winner, a great ambassador for motorsport and we know that he’ll proudly be sporting the red, white and black in pursuit of the championship title he obviously deserves to win.”

A multiple race and round winner, Sieders won the V8 Ute Racing Series back in 2016 before making the transition to V8 SuperUtes upon its creation in 2018. Finishing top-five the last two seasons, the Sydneysider believes backing from the respected battery brand will be the catalyst to earn more silverware in 2024.

“I really couldn’t think of a better company to partner with than Yuasa Batteries,” said Sieders. “They are a market leader, make quality and long-lasting battery products for car and 4×4, motorcycle and marine, and I’m looking forward to representing Yuasa Batteries with this exciting new team on track this year.

“The Tyrepower V8 SuperUtes is one of the most market-relevant racing categories in the country and our aim will not just spread the word about how good their batteries are, especially for the dual-cab buyers, but to make them a winning brand on the racetrack.

“Bathurst is always an amazing place to race and the #3 Yuasa Mazda BT-50 looks incredible. I’d love to give Yuasa Batteries a win next week when we start the 2024 season,” said Sieders.

Round 1 of the Tyrepower V8 SuperUte Series kicks off at the Thrifty Bathurst 500, Mount Panorama, from February 23-25, 2024.

All races in 2024 will be broadcast on FoxSports and Kayo once again, while there will be free-to-air television on the Seven Network for select races at the Thrifty Bathurst 500, Darwin, Bathurst 1000 and Gold Coast events.
