Series leader takes last gasp pole position

Haltech V8 SuperUtes Series leader Aaron “A A Ron” Borg has taken pole position for the opening race of the final round on the Gold Coast.

The ACDelco Sieders Racing Team Holden Colorado of Borg will share the front-row with the form driver since he has entered the series, David “Sideways” Sieders in the Sieders Racing Team Mitsubishi Triton as just 0.105s separated the duo.

Ryal “The Kid” Harris demonstrated he had not lost any prowess behind a V8 SuperUte to be third in the Super Butcher Ford Ranger as Western Sydney Motorsport’s Craig “Big Sexy” Woods lines up alongside in his Toyota Hilux, with the top quartet separated by 0.408.

Abcor Racing’s Rohan “Silver Fox” Barry placed fifth in his Hilux, from Fat Freddy’s Lager supported and practice pacesetter Ben “The Jet” Walsh in another Toyota.

Harry “Styles” Gray will start off the fourth row in the Ryco 24.7 Racing Mitsubishi Triton as lining up beside is the Go Sunny Solar Holden Colorado of George “El Gringo” Gutierrez.

Rounding out the top 10 was the World’s Best Technology Mitsubishi Triton of Jaiden “Boy Wonder” Maggs and Chris “Jazz Hands” Formosa in the Allgate Motorsport Ford Ranger.

David “Mudflap” Casey for Bendix Racing just missed the top 10 in the Isuzu D-Max, from Richard “Grey Gonads” Mork’s City Rural Insurance Brokers Mazda BT-50, Dean “The Professor” Brooking in his Gates JKD Racing Team Hilux and Ellexandra “NotZak” Best rounded out the field in the Best Leisure Industries Mitsubishi Triton.
