Current Super 2 Series driver Cameron Crick will return to the V8 SuperUte Series this weekend at The Bend Motorsport Park as a ‘super sub’ for reigning champion Aaron Borg.

The #1 ACDelco SRT Isuzu D-Max will be rebrand as the #118 DA Campbell Transport D-Max for this round only while Borg is in Europe looking into overseas opportunities; Borg will return for Round 4 at Sandown Raceway next month.

Crick last raced in the V8 SuperUtes series in 2021 where he finished second on points, claiming race and round wins, and pole position at the season-opening round at the Tailem Bend circuit; the first round of the V8-powered era of the category.

“Borgy has been doing a mega job this season with his qualifying speed and race results so I will have big shoes to fill,” admitted Crick. “I’ve definitely been keeping my eyes on the V8 SuperUtes this year because I’ve had a lot of fun in these cars over the years. I’ll be watching out for Dave Sieders and Ryal Harris who I know will be strong at The Bend.

“Last time I raced there in these cars I had a good weekend taking pole position and had a fair few podiums. But I’m hoping to go a few spots better this weekend. I’m really excited to get back with the Sieders Racing crew and have some fun!”

The Sydneysider’s career includes finishing third outright in the Toyota 86 Series in 2018, runner-up honours in the V8 SuperUtes in 2019 and 2021, before springboarding into Super2 with Eggleston Motorsport last year. Just last week Crick also scored a class win in the Mobil 1 Australian Production Car Series at Queensland Raceway in Mitsubishi Lancer RS Evolution X.
