{"id":1396,"date":"2023-04-20T17:59:51","date_gmt":"2023-04-20T07:59:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/v8superutes.com\/?p=1396"},"modified":"2023-04-20T17:59:51","modified_gmt":"2023-04-20T07:59:51","slug":"superutes-champion-aaron-borg-to-defend-title-in-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/v8superutes.com\/superutes-champion-aaron-borg-to-defend-title-in-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"SUPERUTES CHAMPION AARON BORG TO DEFEND TITLE IN 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Reigning champion Aaron Borg will return to the V8 SuperUte Series to defend his title with the Sieders Racing Team and backing from ACDelco in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Borg sealed the 2022 Haltech V8 SuperUte Series title at the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 last October in a Holden Colorado; it was his first category victory and his second national title after claiming the 2019 Toyota 86 Racing Series Australia. Borg will this adorn the coveted #1 on one of the new Isuzu D-MAX SuperUtes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cAny time you get to run the #1 is a great privilege and we\u2019ll be looking to keep it up the front all year, for sure,\u201d <\/strong>said Borg.<strong> \u201cThe boys at Sieders Racing Team have been working extremely hard over the off-season building several new SuperUtes, and I\u2019m lucky enough to be racing in one of the brand new Isuzu D-MAXs.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cThis year is definitely going to be a lot tougher with a lot of new drivers coming in, as well as some mega peddlers returning. There\u2019s probably now 8-10 drivers who will be fighting for race wins, so it\u2019s definitely going to be a fun year, particularly in the reverse grid races. With plans to move into Super2 thwarted by financial limitations, Borg said there was no question about returning to the category when the opportunity presented.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cWhen Luke [Sieders] said there was an opportunity to come back into the SuperUtes I jumped at it! The category is going from strength to strength and presents amazing value to our partners. We get great exposure on track and on TV at all the main Supercar events throughout the country which is one of the reasons ACDelco were keen to be part of the 2023 program.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>\u201cACDelco are continuing to open new service centres throughout the country and I\u2019m looking forward to representing this great brand again in 2023.
