Team Motion Racing’s Adam Marjoram has taken round honours for the first time at home in WA after claiming two wins from two races on the final day of racing at Motormall Wanneroo Raceway, Perth.
Before today, the Perth local had never taken a Tyrepower V8 SuperUte Series round victory in front of his WA family and friends since starting with the series in 2023. Coming into Race 4 on Sunday, Marjoram only needed to finish in front of title rival David Sieders to seal the victory.
As the pointy end of the championship draws closer, The Menace was present on the podium all weekend, with a pair of second-place finishes in Race 1 and Race 2 in addition to the wins in Sunday’s two outings. An emotional Marjoram was surrounded by friends and family for the podium celebrations.
Marjoram led home Sieders (#1 WeatherTech Mazda BT-50) who finished second across both Races 3 and 4 and sealed second place overall for the weekend.
“Picking up the round win was really, really cool. I’ve never won here at home for the round, and it’s tremendously special to do it amongst my family, my friends and all my local supporters here. It just means so much,” Marjoram said.
“The car was magical all week. We couldn’t quite show the pace early on but, in the end, we did in the last two races. I’m tremendously grateful to Sieders Racing and Team Motion Racing for a faultless car. The championship picture is looking pretty good, and I can’t wait for Bathurst.”
This weekend’s result sees Marjoram extend his 2026 championship lead, while Sieders’ strong result also sees him jump from seventh to third in the standings.
Starting both of Sunday’s races alongside Marjoram on the front row of the grid, Sieders wasn’t able to answer the latter’s strong starts. Sieders ran in second place from lights to flag in both races and set a new V8 SuperUte lap record at MotorMall Wanneroo Raceway of 1m04.3009s in Race 3.
Third overall for the weekend went to Adrian Cottrell (#41 Team Forty One Holden Colorado), taking out his first Tyrepower V8 SuperUte Series podium result.
While the weekend may not have gone the way Aaron Borg (#4 Team Motion Racing Isuzu D-Max) wanted results-wise, the Team Motion Racing driver made up 20 places across the weekend to claim the Round 3 Uniden Hard Charger Award.
In Race 3, Marjoram produced the start of the weekend from the outside of the front row, sweeping across to lead Sieders into Turn 1 and heading every lap from there.
Behind them, Jack Westbury (#29 Jack Westbury Racing Mitsubishi Triton) stepped out and made contact with the rear of Anthony Jewell’s #28 Briteforce Mitsubishi Triton, pitching the local sideways across the middle of the circuit and into oncoming traffic. Jewell gathered it up, avoiding a Safety Car, but the incident delivered Westbury a 15-second penalty.
By this time, Marjoram had pulled out a 2.3s lead over Sieders when Michael Clark beached his #3 Clark Tyres Ford Ranger in the sand between Turns 4 and 5 to bring out the Safety Car.
Marjoram controlled the restart and stretched clear again to win from Sieders, with Cottrell in third. Justin Ruggier (#88 Thrifty Western Sydney Motorsport Toyota Hilux) made amends for Saturday’s missed gears with fourth, ahead of Grant Johnson (#7 EFS 4×4 Accessories Isuzu D-MAX), climbing nine places from 14th.
A tank-slapper for Michael Sherwell on the exit of Turn 7 saw the #55 All Class Windscreens Mitsubishi Triton spear into the wall in front of pit lane after getting up on the kerb and bottoming out on the penultimate lap. Jensen Engelhardt (#805 Aprilla Grids Racing Toyota Hilux) also received a 15-second penalty for an incident involving another car.
In Race 4, Marjoram again converted the front row into the lead at Turn 1 and held the advantage over Sieders.
Grant Johnson found the podium for the first time this weekend, the West Australian holding off the Thrifty Western Sydney pairing of Ruggier and Craig Woods (#64 Toyota Hilux) through the middle of the race to complete the podium in his final outing of the weekend.
Cottrell’s fourth-placed finish secured third overall for the round, as Woods rounded out the top five ahead of Sean Evans (#33 Airbag Man Racing Mitsubishi Triton), who capped a standout weekend for the rookie in sixth.
Having run as high as fifth, Ruggier set the fastest lap of the race with a 1m04.8545s before spinning off at Turn 4 and dropping down the order. Borg’s Hard Charger run also came at a cost, a 15-second penalty for contact with Rossi Johnson dropping him to 13th, while Luke Webber (#26 Apogee Motorsport Ford Ranger) and Clark both found the sand, Clark’s coming after the chequered flag with a deflating tyre.
The Tyrepower V8 SuperUte Series continues with Round 4 at the Repco Bathurst 1000 across 8–11 October.
