Team Motion Racing’s Adam Marjoram has extended his lead of the Tyrepower V8 SuperUte Series after taking victory in Race 1 at Sandown this afternoon (November 14, 2025).
Series rival David Sieders (#3 Yuasa Batteries Racing Mazda BT-50) scored pole position earlier in the day, but was unable to hold off the reigning champion after he made the decisive overtake in the opening laps.
Marjoram started and finished the day at the head of the timesheets, having kicked off the day’s action with the fastest time in practice, clocking a 1:20.1212sec to lead Aaron Borg (#100 Team Motion Racing Isuzu D-MAX) by just 0.02s. Jayden Wanzek (#90 Carryboy Racing Mitsubishi Triton) was 0.23s down in third.
It was Sieders, though, who claimed the pole position in a tightly-contested qualifying session. Sieders recorded a 1:19.7983sec lap to claim the all-important bonus points, beating Marjoram by 0.07s. Cody Brewczynski (#18 Wanless/Custom Lithium Toyota Hilux) and Borg were third and fourth, with a returning Cameron Crick fifth on the times; Crick missed the most recent round at Mount Panorama due to his enduro duties in the Repco Bathurst 1000.
In Race 1 on Friday afternoon, Sieders gave Marjoram a run for his money early, leading the opening lap of the race before the points leader made a decisive move at Turn 1 on the second lap. Marjoram controlled the race from there on in, eventually claiming the spoils by 2.534sec, with fellow championship contender Borg rounding out the podium in third.
A late race pass by Crick (#7 EFS 4×4 Accessories Isuzu DMAX) demoted Brewczynski to fifth; a points hit that the Sydneysider can little afford at this point of the season having been in title contention all year.
Jimmy Vernon (#50 Team Ultima Mitsubishi Triton) just missed the top five to finish sixth ahead of Wanzek, who was in an early door-to-door battle with Rossi Johnson (#333 Shorebarge Holden Colorado).
It was an eventful opening lap for Johnson after being run wide by Wanzek, he was involved in an incident at Turn 12 which saw Adrian Cottrell (#41 3D SiteWorx Racing Holden Colorado) collide; Johnson recovered to finish 11th and with the incident still being investigated by Stewards at day’s end.
Steady progress from Craig Woods (#64 Western Sydney Motorsport Toyota Hilux) resulted in eighth as a battle for the final spots in the top 10 heated up allowing him to skip away. Brad Vereker (#96 JWL Racing Toyota Hilux) – who was declared the Yuasa Batteries Hard Charger – successfully held on to ninth ahead of a charging Holly Espray (#777 Uniden HER Isuzu DMAX) and Johnson.
Leading the next battle pack was Cottrell from Michael Sherwell (#55 Nova Air and Electrical Mitsubishi Triton) after dropping out of the top 10. Amar Sharma (#9 City Rural Insurance Brokers Mazda BT-50) headed Matt Nolan (#21 Clipsal/My Construct Racing Ford Ranger) to round out the top 15. Nolan completed a daring move for 15th during the closing stages at the fast Turn 7 and 8 esses to demote Jason Norris (#8 Auto Masters Racing Toyota Hilux) to 16th.
A spin resulted in Jensen Engelhardt (#805 AIV Racing Toyota Hilux) finishing 17th ahead of Ellex Best (#76 Best Leisure Industries Mazda BT-50), Gavin Newman on debut in 19th (#26 Pedders JKD Racing Mazda BT-50) and Richard Mork (#78 Uniden Ford Ranger). Glen Melling (#65 Jasmat Steel Fabrications Holden Colorado) was the sole retirement from the race, which ran its full distance without interruption.
The Tyrepower V8 SuperUte Series teams now prepare for Race 2 tomorrow, on Saturday November 15, the reverse grid race at 10:15am AEDT.
