Team Motion Racing’s Adam Marjoram and EFS Racing’s Cameron Crick have each claimed victories in Saturday’s two races at Sydney Motorsport Park.
Marjoram (#15 Team Motion Racing Isuzu DMAX) led from lights to flag in the reverse grid Race 2, while Crick (#7 EFS 4×4 Accessories Isuzu DMAX) controlled Race 3 from early on, leading the field home as the Tyrepower V8 SuperUtes raced on the Druitt Circuit short track for the first time.
Territorian Rossi Johnson (#333 Shorebarge / Apogee Motorsport Holden Colorado) took the second step of the podium in Race 2, giving the youngster his career-best race finish, which he backed up with another podium-placing drive in Race 3, this time coming home in third.
Friday’s race winner, Cody Brewczynski, had plenty to prove piloting the #18 Thrifty Western Sydney Motorsport Mazda BT-50 to the final step of the Race 2 podium, while Marjoram took home second place in Race 3.
In an impressive show of young talent, rookies claimed three of the top 10 positions in each of today’s races, while Brewczynski, Johnson and Crick have also signalled their intent to challenge for their maiden Series championships this season.
In Race 2, Marjoram launched cleanly from the front and made the most of the reverse-grid format. Rookie Ruben Dan (#111 Ruben Dan Racing Mazda BT-50) joined Marjoram on the front row in what was just his second Tyrepower V8 SuperUte Series start. Dan’s start wasn’t as clean as those around him and was quickly swallowed by the second row as the field charged into Turn 1.
Behind the leaders, Richard Mork struck trouble as the #78 Uniden Mitsubishi Triton pulled off to the side, bringing out the first and only Safety Car of the day. At the restart, contact between David Sieders (#1 WeatherTech Mazda BT-50) and Brewczynski left the reigning champion with steering damage that would ultimately see him out of the race.
As the field settled, Marjoram began to edge clear while Johnson placed himself firmly behind for the duration of the race. Brewczynski worked his way forward to finish third after contact earlier in the race to join the podium battle in a tight scrap with Crick and Dan, who finished the race in fourth and fifth, respectively, as positions shuffled through the middle phase of the race.
Dan, meanwhile, regathered after the opening lap, staying in the fight and keeping himself among the leading group.
Further back, Adrian Cottrell (#41 Team Forty One Holden Colorado) carved through the field from deep on the grid in one of the standout drives of the race, finishing seventh behind Justin Ruggier (#88 Western Sydney Motorsport Toyota HiLux) in sixth. Rounding out the Race 2 top ten were Aaron Borg (#4 Team Motion Racing Isuzu DMAX) in eighth, Craig Woods (#68 Thrifty Western Sydney Motorsport Toyota HiLux) in ninth, and Sean Evans (#33 Airbag Man Racing Mitsubishi Triton) who cracked the top ten for the first time today.
Due to challenges with the track surface, all support categories on Saturday were run on the short track, including Tyrepower V8 SuperUtes Series’ Race 3. Brewczynski was the pioneer on the short track as they came around to the entrance to Druitt Circuit, with Crick, Marjoram and Johnson also fighting for position behind the leader.
Behind the podium trio, Borg impressed after struggling with vibration issues across the weekend in fourth ahead of Sieders, who rebounded from his Race 2 retirement to finish fifth. Woods brought his Toyota HiLux home sixth, while Dan again featured strongly in seventh, though a five-second post-race penalty was applied to the #111 entry for contact with another racer. Sherwell also rebounded to finish eighth, with rookies Jack Westbury (#29 Jack Westbury Racing Mitsubishi Triton) and Evans in ninth and tenth.
The final race of Round 1 of the 2026 Tyrerpower V8 SuperUte Series will be on track at 11.30am Sunday 22 February. Watch Race 4 live on FoxSports Ch506 and Kayo.
