FOUR WINNERS FROM FOUR RACES AS SIEDERS WINS V8 SUPERUTES ROUND IN SYDNEY

Sunday’s Race 4 delivered the fourth different Tyrepower V8 SuperUte Series race winner of the weekend, with Team Motion Racing steerer Adam Marjoram taking the final race win and Yuasa Batteries Racing’s David Sieders the overall round victor at Sydney Motorsport Park

Starting with taking the Yuasa Pole Position Award on Friday, Sieders (#3 Mazda BT-50) had a dominating weekend with podium placings in every race plus the win in Race 3 to take outright honours with the most championship rounds at the season-opener. Sieders was very happy with the home track win and thanked his crew for their hard work over the weekend.

“I’ve got a load of goodies – round win, race win, and pole position, all at the home track. The boys put in an awesome effort, and I can’t thank them enough. The car wasn’t the best in race trim, and we’ve got some stuff to work on. But we were the quickest in qualifying, so watch out for the rest of the year,” Sieders said.

Along with the Race 4 win, Marjoram’s strong showings across the weekend – including setting multiple fastest laps – were more than enough to secure second overall for Round 1, giving the reigning champion a solid foundation to build from in his fight to retain the championship.

Western Sydney Motorsport racer Cody Brewczynski (#18 Wanless Toyota HiLux) rounded out the weekend’s podium in third after securing three second-place finishes in Races 2, 3 and 4.

Sunday’s Race 4 began with a tribute lap led by Dave Casey (#782 Mitsubishi Triton) in honour of Sieders Racing Team engineer Kevin Culley, who passed away suddenly before Christmas.

The field then went four wide as the lights went out with Marjoram – starting from the second row of the grid – launching off the line to find his way around both Brewczynski and Sieders before Turn 1. Brewczynski and Sieders were locked in a race-long side-by-side battle in a repeat of their Race 2 tussles as Marjoram began to set a comfortable gap to second and third behind.

On lap 1, Brad Vereker (#96 Toyota HiLux) lost his front bar after a multi-car contact at Turn 6. The collision sent the #96 and Jason Norris (#8 Toyota HiLux) off the track, with Paul Morris (#67 Ford Ranger) just sneaking through.

Mid-way through the race, the Safety Car was deployed so the stricken #64 Toyota HiLux of Craig Woods, which was stuck in the gravel at Turn 6 after collecting Ellexandra Best (#76 Mazda BT-50), could be retrieved. Best spun on track, narrowly missing Morris in the process.

Racing resumed with a frenetic one-lap dash to the end, sealing the deal for Marjoram as the race winner and the top step of the round podium for Sieders. Aaron Borg (#4 Isuzu D-Max) was the biggest mover and shaker and Yuasa Hard Charger of the race, making up 13 positions to finish in fourth after a disappointing Race 3, where a broken oil line ended his race early.

With four winners from four races in Round 1, the 2025 Tyrepower V8 SuperUte Series is shaping up to be one of the most competitive yet. Round 2 will be held from 9 to 11 May as part of the Tasmania Super 440 at Symmons Plains Raceway. Information about tickets, on-track activities, and how to watch will be released soon.
