CODY BREWCZYNSKI BECOMES DOUBLE-ROUND VICTOR AT BATHURST

Western Sydney Motorsport’s Cody Brewczynski has claimed his second Tyrepower V8 SuperUte Series round win of 2025, along with the Race 4 victory on Sunday at Mount Panorama, Bathurst.

Having qualified on Pole on Thursday, Brewczynski remained a front-runner all weekend, claiming second in Race 1, sixth in Race 2, and wins in the final two races to close the gap on the championship points table to current leader Adam Marjoram. The Sydneysider also claimed a round win in Perth back in July.

The round podium was filled by David Sieders in second, who also celebrated his 100th V8 SuperUtes race start in the final 20-minutes race of the weekend, and Jayden Wanzek who’s return to the Series culminated in a maiden podium finish of third for the Sieders Racing Team pilot.

“I got my first wins at Bathurst this weekend, and to do it on Sunday with the whole Western Sydney Motorsport team here is really special. I have my dad, my whole family, my little niece running around, it’s really cool,” Brewczynski said.

“I didn’t have it easy, I made it hard for myself. I got a shocking start again, that’s four out of four shocking starts for me. But then I got in front of Dave and we had a really good battle. He overcooked the last turn and I was able to get a it of a switch back on him and then I nearly had a monumental crash up the top on the last lap.

“I can’t thank everyone enough for their hard work this weekend. We’ve chipped away at it and we had a really fast car, but I feel like we haven’t been able to show our true pace, so it’s awesome to reward everyone with a win.  The championship is going to go down to the wire at Sandown and I’m really looking forward to it.”

Brewczynski started Race 4 from pole in the #18 Wanless / Custom Lithium Toyota HiLux but was beaten off the line by Sieders (#3 Yuasa Batteries Racing Mazda BT-50), who led the field up the mountain. Behind them, chaos unfolded when Jensen Engelhardt (#805 AIV Racing Toyota Hilux) and Matt Nolan (#21 Clipsal / My Construct Racing Ford Ranger) were pushed wide as Richard Mork (#93 Uniden Ford Ranger) tried to thread the needle through a closing gap in traffic off the start.

While Engelhardt was able to limp off, the Safety Car was called for Nolan, who wasn’t able to continue after the contact with Engelhardt pushed him into the outside wall. Mork received a 5-second penalty for jumping the start and a 30-second penalty for causing the incident.

Sieders controlled the race at the restart with seven minutes still to play. Brewczynski tucked in behind, with Rossi Johnson (#333 Shorebarge Holden Colorado), Jayden Wanzek (#90 Carryboy Racing Mitsubishi Triton), and Marjoram (#1 Team Motion Racing Isuzu D-Max) also applying pressure. Brewczynski then took advantage of a mistake by Sieders when the #3 Mazda BT-50 locked a rear wheel coming into Murray’s Corner, allowing Brewczynski and Wanzek to power through. However, Sieders snuck back around Wanzek in the final moments to claim second as Wanzek held on for third.

Johnson was in contention for the podium for much of the race and went on to claim fourth ahead of Marjoram in fifth, while Craig Woods (#64 Western Sydney Motorsport Toyota Hilux) finished sixth. Jimmy Vernon (#50 Team Ultima Mitsubishi Triton), Aaron Borg (#4 Team Motion Racing Isuzu D-MAX), Holly Espray (#777 Uniden HER Isuzu D-MAX), and Adrian Cottrell (#41 3D SiteWorx Racing Holden Colorado) rounded out the top ten.

Dean Campbell wrapped up his debut weekend in the series in 12th (#7 EFS 4×4 Accessories Isuzu D-Max), while regular driver Cameron Crick was running a Repco Bathurst 1000 wildcard entry. Luke Webber (#26 O’Brien AutoGlass Mazda BT-50) moved up eight positions to earn the final Yuasa Batteries Australia Hard Charger Award for the weekend.

Current championship standings see Marjoram lead on 1109 points, followed by Sieders on 1094 points and Brewczynski on 1089 points. Borg and Vernon round out the top five respectively. The 2025 Tyrepower V8 SuperUtes Series season finale will be held as part of the Penrite Oil Sandown 500 from 14-16 November.
