BREWCZYNSKI TAKES MAIDEN TYREPOWER V8 SUPERUTES ROUND WIN IN PERTH

Cody Brewczynski has raced to his maiden round win in the Tyrepower V8 SuperUtes Series, after a clean sweep of Sunday’s races at Round 3 held at Carco.com.au Raceway, Perth.

The Sydneysider’s dominate results – winning three out of four races – marks a milestone for the Western Sydney Motorsport driver, with this weekend delivering his first round win just one month after his maiden race victory in Tasmania in May.

“Yeah, wow, first round win, we had some mega car speed. We definitely didn’t roll out the fastest, but we just tuned the car as we went. We won the last race by nearly five seconds or so, and I can’t thank the whole team enough. It was great to have Craig Thompson [team owner] here and the whole crew from Custom Lithium as well, supporting me,” said Brewczynski.

Reigning champion Adam Marjoram (#1 Motion Isuzu D-Max) and David Sieders (#3 Yuasa Batteries Mazda BT-50) finished second and third for the round respectively, with both drivers standing on the podium in Races 3 and 4 as well; Marjoram claimed back-to-back second-place finishes, and Sieders secured a pair of thirds.

In Race 3, Brewczynski (#18 Wanless / Custom Lithium Toyota HiLux) took a lights-to-flag victory, while a heavy crash for Rossi Johnson (#333 Shorebarge Holden Colorado) brought out the only Safety Car of the session.

Brewczynski started from pole and controlled the race from the front, pulling clear after a mid-race restart to take his third win of the 2025 season. His fastest lap time of 1m04.445s also set a new V8 SuperUtes lap record for the Perth circuit, resetting the previous fastest lap recorded by Sieders on Saturday.

Behind him, Marjoram finished second, while Sieders recovered from a poor start to finish third after dropping multiple spots at lights out. Sieders dropped back into seventh as the Motion twins of Marjoram and Aaron Borg (#4 Isuzu D-Max), Johnson, Craig Woods (#64 WSM Toyota HiLux), and Jimmy Vernon (#50 Fluid Film Mitsubishi Triton) all maneuvered around him, with Borg taking advantage of the startline chaos to briefly climb to second, before teammate Marjoram found his way around. Borg crossed the line fourth, with Paul Morris (#67 STM Ford Ranger) rounding out the top five.

Morris was locked in battle with Johnson when the pair made contact on lap two. Locking wheels, Johnson’s #333 Shorebarge Colorado steering broke and went hard into the concrete barrier. While Johnson was cleared by the medical team, the Colorado was sidelined with significant front-end damage and was ultimately withdrawn from the weekend despite best efforts by the Apogee Motorsport crew and wider Tyrepower V8 SuperUtes paddock.

At the restart, Brewczynski was never challenged, while Sieders made his way past Borg for third in the closing laps. Morris also pressured Borg late but the order remained unchanged to the flag.

Vernon and Jason Norris finished sixth and seventh respectively, with Michael Sherwell making up five spots to finish in eighth in the #55 Nova Air Conditioning Mitsubishi Triton.

Craig Woods and Adrian Cottrell #41 3D SiteWorx Holden Colorado) completed the top 10, with Cottrell charging through the field after starting near the back earning the Yuasa Batteries Hard Charger Award for Race 3.

Starting from pole in Race 4, Brewczynski lost the lead by Turn 1 to Marjoram who had his best start of the weekend.

Marjoram’s time in front was short-lived, with Brewczynski reclaiming the lead just as the Safety Car was called to recover Sherwell’s beached #55 Mitsubishi Triton, following contact with Adrian Cottrell. Cottrell was forced to pit with suspension damage, recording a DNF for the session and receiving a penalty for the incident.

Once green flag running resumed, Brewczynski pulled away from the pack while Marjoram and Sieders resumed their battle for second. Sieders closed in over the final laps but was unable to find a way past the hometown driver, who held firm to take second by two-tenths of a second.

Borg had been struggling with pace all weekend and was unable to challenge for the final step of the podium, crossing the line in fourth, while Woods recorded another strong finish for the weekend in fifth.

Morris recorded another consistent finish in sixth, followed by Vernon and Jason Norris (#8 Auto Masters HiLux). Dave Casey claimed ninth result in the #782 Mitsubishi Triton, ahead of Perth racer Anthony Jewell (#28 Humm Group Triton), who rounded out the top 10.

Amar Sharma (#9 City Rural Insurance Brokers Mazda BT-50) finished just outside in 11th, followed by Luke Webber, Cade Bell and Holly Espray, making up two positions to finish 14th ahead of Jensen Engelhardt, who was handed a five-second penalty for jumping the start, dropping him to 15th.

This weekend marks the halfway point of the 2025 season. With just three rounds to go, the Tyrepower V8 SuperUte Series continues with Round 4 at the NTI Townsville 500 from 11–13 July.
