Dave Casey and SWL Racing entered the world of motorsport in 2009, focusing mainly on off-road racing and Stadium Super Trucks, having competed in last year’s Super Trucks season. However, with Stadium Super Trucks having left Australia at the start of this year, Dave Casey and SWL Racing have turned to the SuperUtes category.
“Because Stadium Trucks are no longer in Australia, I wanted to stay within the Supercars scene, and these SuperUtes are most relevant to the 4WD and off-road market. I made a few phone calls with Paul Morris who put me onto the SuperUtes category and Sieders Racing were more than happy to have me on board.” said Casey.
The Haltech V8 SuperUte Series debuted in 2018 in an effort to create a more market-relevant racing series. SuperUtes underwent an enormous change in regulation starting last year with the field of utes now using 6.2L V8 engines in favour of the turbo-diesel engines used in previous seasons. Dave Casey will be piloting an SWL Racing-prepared Isuzu D-Max for the 2022 series.
Bendix is proud to onboard with Dave Casey and SWL Racing for the 2022 series as part of their first foray into the SuperUtes category. “It’s fantastic to be involved with such an iconic Australian automotive brand. Bendix have been around for a very long time and they’re a really good product, so I’m really happy to be partnered up with them this year.” said Casey, “Obviously being new and pioneers to the category we’ve got a lot to learn, but we’ve got the right people in our corner to get up to speed pretty fast. I’m looking forward to the year ahead with the Isuzu D-Max Bendix SuperUte.”
“As Australia’s leading brake brand, Bendix are proud to support Dave Casey from SWL Racing, in the 2022 Haltech V8 SuperUte Series, and the development of our young Aussie talent.” said George Kyriakopoulos, General Manager of Bendix.
Dave Casey and SWL Racing make their SuperUte debut on the weekend of March 26th with the 2022 Haltech V8 SuperUte Series kicking away for the first of six rounds in Tasmania at Symmons Plains Raceway
