Championship leader of the Haltech V8 SuperUte Series, Aaron Borg, will welcome backing from ACDelco at this weekend’s Round 4 at The Bend Motorsport Park, South Australia (July 29-31, 2022).
Steerer of the #4 Sieders Racing-prepared SuperUte, Borg will showcase a newly redesigned ACDelco Holden Colorado which will help launch the company’s new all-makes ACDelco and Holden Certified Service Centre in Portside SA, in the north-western suburbs of Adelaide.
“Having a brand like ACDelco on board is a great thing for both my own career but also for SuperUtes in general,” said Borg. “It shows how the level of exposure of the series is expanding, and I’m very excited to have my Colorado SuperUte featured as part of the new ACDelco Service Centre Portside opening this week.
“The partnership also allows us to take advantage of the many ACDelco and Holden Genuine parts available for the Colorado. ACDelco all-makes products have an excellent reputation for quality and affordability, so it’s logical that customers are demanding the use of ACDelco for their vehicle servicing requirements.
“It’s a privilege to help spread the word about the latest ACDelco Service Centre opening, and be working with the brand in the lead up to our races and represent them on track.”
The 31-year-old from Sydney has been a standout steerer in 2022, claiming two race wins and eight podiums in total. Borg leads the title chase by 90 points over George Gutierrez in second and Craig Woods in third. But at the halfway mark of the season, Borg is focussing on his results one round at the time.
“Preparation has been going well for The Bend. We finally had a test day after Winton where we tried a few things that we weren’t able to test on race weekends. Tailem Bend is also the first track that I’ve actually competed at before the race weekend this year (after racing there last year). So I’m looking forward to being able to get stuck into it straight away.
“We’re not really thinking of championship yet; we just need to go out there and try to win as many races as we can. There’s plenty of fast drivers – the series has had seven different drivers on round podiums so far this year so it’s hard to know who will be our biggest challenge. George [Gutierrez] will be very quick at The Bend though because it’s his home track, so I’m looking forward to the challenge,” concluded Borg.
Round 4 of the Haltech V8 SuperUte Series will be run at The Bend Motorsport Park, Tailem Bend, South Australia, from July 29-31, 2022.
